Kerstin Hörlin-Holmquist
Plommonet
The iconic 'Plommonet' coffee table (literally 'The Plum'), designed by the celebrated Swedish designer Kerstin Hörlin-Holmquist in the 1950s for Nordiska Kompaniet's (NK) prestigious Triva series, is a sublime manifesto of Scandinavian organic modernism. This refined edition features a stunning oval top veneered in premium walnut wood, showcasing the warm, rich, and deep figured grain patterns typical of the era's finest timbers. The tabletop profile is crafted with gently rounded edges that soften its visual weight. The design's most spectacular element lies in its structural framework: the top seamlessly floats above a sculptural solid wood base, defined by tapered legs and sinuously curved stretchers that echo fluid, organic forms. The piece features the following dimensions: 124 cm in width, 56 cm in depth, and 53.5 cm in height. It remains in excellent vintage condition, beautifully preserving its magnificent original patina that highlights the elegant color depth and silkiness of the walnut.
