China Cabinet

Cabinet

This iconic cabinet, the Model 232 from the celebrated 'China Series', was designed by Danish master Børge Mogensen in 1951 for C.M. Madsen and produced during the 1960s by FDB Møbler. A hallmark of Scandinavian functionalism blended with Asian structural influences, it features clean, rigorous geometric lines. The piece is constructed from high-quality solid and veneered oak in warm honey tones, showcasing a rich and natural horizontal wood grain. The front features two large hinged doors, most recognizable for their distinctive circular polished brass handles positioned in the center, which also serve as lock plates. The main body rests on a sturdy, raised solid oak base with four square legs, visually lightened by characteristic 45-degree diagonal corner brackets at the joints. The piece features the following dimensions: 122 cm in width, 94 cm in height, and 45 cm in depth. It is in excellent vintage condition, preserving a beautiful original patina that enhances both its historical value and aesthetic appeal.
