"This pair of iconic Mid-Century Modern candlesticks features the celebrated 'Aniara' model, designed by Swedish silversmith Pierre Forssell in 1968 for the historic Skultuna foundry. The design showcases a striking minimalist contrast in proportions, where a heavy, solid cylindrical base acts as a visual anchor for an extremely slender and delicate stem. The stem culminates in a sophisticated crescent or scoop-shaped candle cup, brilliantly engineered to embrace a 10 mm taper candle while acting as a sculptural reflector to amplify the candlelight. Crafted in solid brass, each piece measures 20.5 cm in height and is in excellent vintage condition, preserving a rich, beautifully aged original patina that enhances its collectible value.
